Salle de Bal (Versailles Amphitheater)

This is the amphitheater in the gardens of Chateau Versailles.  It's a pretty regal place, and has a name to match: Salle de Bal.  Construction started on the Salle de Bal in the early 1600s, but unless electrically-controlled fountains were invented back then, renovations have been made.

Careful though, if you visit the Gardens of Versailles watch your step!  There are trigger-happy 'guards' that watch every square inch of the gardens to make sure you don't step where you shouldn't be.  They're equipped with piercingly loud whistles that they won't hesitate to blow right in your face.  Did I mention they're loud?

Enjoy the photos...
