A Trip Up the Notre Dame

There exists in many a place unexplored tunnels where adventures abound.  The Notre Dame is one of those places. There are 386 stairs that lead to the top of the Notre Dame.  They are stone, spirally, and cause claustrophobia.  They get smaller and smaller as you go up.  Look at this behemoth, and imagine the stairs that line the inside.

This is the wider section of stairs about 1/8 of the way up to the top of the Notre Dame.  If you fell, you'd be tumbling down quite a ways.

There are a number of platforms where you emerge from the Notre Dame stairs and get a cool view of the city and the cathedral.  Here is one of the first fews of an old clock.

And if you  glance up...

Eventually you get to the top where there is an extraordinary view of the city...

If you look closely, you can see the Sacre Coeur in the background.

Of course, the gargoyles at the top of Notre Dame are famous as well.

When you look down at the front, the people look like ants...

There is also a very cool section of the Church where you can see the pillars and the bell tower atop the Notre Dame.
